Dear intern,
I once globally took down Spotify. It almost happened twice. My team was awesome about it and I’m still here. You managed to find something broken in the way integration tests are done. It’s a good thing and will help improve things. Good luck <3.

This is familiar.
Dear intern, 11 years ago, I DOS’d my employer’s global platform twice in the same day, along with the office network. Without realizing it.
My mgr’s first question during debriefing: “why don’t we have rate-limiting to prevent that?”
I still work there.

Dear intern,
At my very first job I sent out a major corporation’s press release 12 hours early and they had to reschedule a product launch. Their stock price dipped because of it. I was mortified at the time but now it’s one of the coolest things I’ve ever done.

Dear Intern,
I once sent an email to C-Suite that had said “Cinnamon Testicles are live!” When what I meant to announce was that our “Cinema Testeing was live.”
Still here. Flourishing.

What’s up intern?
I’ve worked at Pixar and Oculus on roughly 8 films. At least 3 of them were deleted by someone on the team and had to be restored from backups. It happens. A lot. 10 years from now this will be a funny story you tell your interns.

Dear intern,
I once rolled out the wrong certificates to the entirety of https://t.co/NaFZL4ieNl, very nearly taking it offline for the entire world.
You’re doing great! ❤️
